On Saturday April 30, 2016, undergraduates presented their reseach at the 2016 Chemistry UROP symposium and poster session. Ian Perry, a junior undergraduate who has worked with postdoc Yang Yang, presented a poster on "Cooper-Catalyzed Asymmetric Addition of Olefin-Derived Nucleophiles to Ketones" which will soon be published. Ian is away for the summer for an internship at Dow but will return in the fall to continue his work with the Buchwald lab for his senior year. Emma Chant won an award for her outstanding presentation on "Synthesis of Beta-Amino Acid Derivatives." Emma has been working with postdoc John Nguyen on this project for the past year and will continue her research work for her senior year in the Buchwald group. Congratulations Emma! Great job to all of the UROPs!
